# Relaunch a live stream

Start a new live stream now with the same source, settings and destinations as an earlier one.

Creates a **new** stream (new ID) that starts now, copying the title, description, source, loop, video mode, time limit and destinations, including custom stream keys. The original stream is unchanged.

> [!WARNING]
> Some platforms issue single-use stream keys (Instagram, for example). Relaunching with an old key fails for that destination. Create a new stream with a fresh key instead.

Returns `201` with the new stream. The same checks and errors as [Create a live stream](/docs/api/create-live) apply. For example, an account that has since been disconnected returns `account_inactive`, and a deleted source video returns `unknown_media`.
