Social Groups

Organise connected accounts into groups, for example by client or brand.

Social groups let you sort connected accounts into named sets, such as one per client, brand or region. Groups help you find and select the right accounts in the dashboard once a project has many of them.

Manage groups under Integrations → Social groups at https://social-publish-kappa.vercel.app/dashboard/integrations?tab=groups.

The Default group

Every account belongs to exactly one group. Accounts you haven't assigned are in Default, which always exists and can't be deleted.

Create a group

Click New social group, then give it:

  • a name (up to 80 characters), and
  • an optional description (up to 500 characters).

The groups list shows how many integrations are in each group. Only project owners and admins can create, edit or delete groups and move accounts between them.

Add accounts to a group

There are two ways to put an account in a group:

  • When connecting. Choose it in the Social group field of the New integration dialog. The account is added to it as soon as it's connected.
  • Afterwards. On the Integrations tab, open the account's menu and choose Move to social group to move it to another group, or back to Default.

Reconnecting an account keeps it in its current group unless you pick a different one while reconnecting.

Filter by group

On the Integrations tab, use the Group filter to show only one group's accounts, or only those in Default. The account list can also be searched by name, username or account ID and filtered by platform.

Groups in the API

GET /v1/accounts returns each account's groupId: the group's ID, or null for Default. Use it to select accounts by group in your own code:

const res = await fetch("https://social-publish-api.onrender.com/v1/accounts", {
  headers: { "x-access-key": process.env.RELAYCAST_API_KEY! },
});
const { data: accounts } = await res.json();

const clientGroupId = "c3d4e5f6-0000-4000-8000-000000000001";
const targets = accounts
  .filter((a: { groupId: string | null; status: string }) => a.groupId === clientGroupId && a.status === "active")
  .map((a: { id: string }) => ({ accountId: a.id }));
res = requests.get(
    "https://social-publish-api.onrender.com/v1/accounts",
    headers={"x-access-key": os.environ["RELAYCAST_API_KEY"]},
)
client_group_id = "c3d4e5f6-0000-4000-8000-000000000001"
targets = [
    {"accountId": a["id"]}
    for a in res.json()["data"]
    if a["groupId"] == client_group_id and a["status"] == "active"
]

Copy a group's ID from an account in that group in the API response. There are no API endpoints to list, create or change groups, and a post still targets accounts individually: groups are not a target type.

Delete a group

Deleting a group doesn't disconnect anything. Its accounts move back to Default.

If you manage separate clients who should never see each other's accounts or posts, use separate projects instead of groups. Access keys, collaborators, credits and posts are all scoped per project. See Collaborators & Projects.
