Collaborators & Projects
Invite teammates to a project, assign roles, and work across several projects.
A project holds everything: connected accounts, posts, drafts, access keys, credits, notification rules and logs. Collaborators are the people who can work in a project. You can belong to several projects and switch between them.
Projects
Your first project is created when you sign up. Rename it under Settings → General.
If you've been invited to other projects, switch between them from the project menu in the dashboard sidebar. Everything you see in the dashboard, including accounts, posts and keys, belongs to the project that's currently selected.
Projects are fully isolated:
- An access key only works for its own project's accounts and posts.
- Credits are tracked per project.
- Accounts, groups, OAuth apps, drafts and logs are never shared between projects.
Agencies often use one project per client. Each client's accounts, keys and credits stay separate, and you can invite the client's own team to just their project.
Roles
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Member | Create and manage posts and drafts, use the Playground, Posts, Analytics and Inbox. |
| Admin | Everything a member can do, plus connect and disconnect accounts, manage groups, OAuth apps, access keys, notification rules, project settings and collaborators. |
| Owner | Everything an admin can do, plus grant, change or remove the owner role. |
Rules that keep a project manageable:
- A project always has at least one owner. The last owner can't be demoted or removed, so make someone else an owner first.
- Only an owner can change another owner's role or remove an owner.
- Owners can't leave their own project.
Invite a collaborator
Owners and admins can invite people from Collaborators at https://social-publish-kappa.vercel.app/dashboard/collaborators:
- Click Invite.
- Enter their email address and choose Member or Admin.
- Copy the invite link and send it to them.
The person opens the link, signs in or creates an account with that email address, and joins the project with the chosen role.
- Invite links are valid for 7 days.
- Pending invites are listed on the Collaborators page, where you can copy a fresh link (any earlier link for that invite stops working) or revoke the invite.
- You can't invite someone who's already a member or already has a pending invite.
The number of members a project can have depends on its plan. The Free plan allows 1 member, and pending invites count toward the limit. When you reach it, invites are rejected with a message asking you to upgrade.
Manage members
From the Collaborators page, owners and admins can change a member's role or remove them from the project. Removing someone takes away their access to the project immediately. Access keys belong to the project, not to the person who created them, so they keep working after that person is removed. Revoke any keys they had access to if needed.
Leave a project
Members and admins can leave a project from the Collaborators page. You lose access until you're invited again.
